FirstBank, the nation’s third-largest privately held bank with numerous banking locations in Arizona, announced that it has donated $500,000 to multiple youth education nonprofits, including: $300,000 to the Arizona Leadership Foundation (ALF), $190,000 to Catholic Education Arizona (CEA), and $10,000 to Arizona Tuition Connection.

Families from around the Tucson area came to meet with 26 schools and find out about the Arizona Leadership Foundation’s scholarship programs. More than 700 people attended the event.

Thanks to a partnership between the Arizona Leadership Foundation and Western Refining, $750,000 is being diverted to students from Low-Income families in Yuma in the form of scholarships to local private schools. A company that operates refineries as well as convenience stores and gas stations in the Southwest, Western Refining is partnering with the Arizona Leadership Foundation to participate in the state’s corporate tax credit program.
