Lindsay Encinas

December 01, 2013

Lindsay Encinas is a junior at Phoenix Christian Preparatory School, where she has attended school since she was a freshman. Lindsay chose Phoenix Christian because she likes the positive values the school promotes and its strong belief system. Phoenix Christian’s longer class periods and smaller class sizes are very beneficial for learning, Lindsay feels. “We have a lot of opportunity to get credit for college, and we have great teachers who help explain things,” Lindsay said, as she described her school. Currently her favorite subjects are English, Math and U.S. Government.

In addition to having a very busy academic life, Lindsay is involved in numerous sport and extracurricular activities including Swim Team, Softball, Drama and Chapel Team. When asked about her hobbies, Lindsay explained, “I really like to read books, give back to my community, go camping and play sports.”

Being a Junior, college is on the forefront of Lindsay’s mind, “I would love to attend college!  I would love to go to Colorado State University of Bel-rea. I would like to study veterinarian medicine or criminal justice. I would like to be a veterinarian, zoologist or a judge.”

This vibrant high school student is able to attend Phoenix Christian Preparatory School due to scholarship assistance, “Scholarships have helped my mom give me a better environment to continue my education. I live with my little brother and my mother. My father passed away at age 32 from cancer.  I would really like it if you help my school, that way kids like me can come and get a great education.”

The Arizona Leadership Foundation proudly provides scholarship assistance to private schools and Lexie’s Law schools throughout Arizona with no preference to religious or political affiliation. We believe parents should have a choice when it comes to the education of their children! The Arizona Leadership Foundation is able to offer scholarships through Arizona’s Corporate Income Tuition Tax Credit (CTC) Scholarship Program and the Lexie’s Law Corporate Income Tax Credit Program. These Arizona programs are education plans designed to help Low-Income families and families with Disabled/Displaced children obtain the best education for their children.
