Hayden Clawson

November 01, 2013

This month we have the privilege of sharing Hayden Clawson’s story. He is a 7th grader at New Way Academy in Phoenix.  “New Way Academy has helped me academically with my grades and my reading ability. I feel like I can keep up with my homework and my friends.   I have made friends and I feel like I belong somewhere.  Kids don’t make fun of me anymore.”

Two years ago, Hayden’s mom decided that he needed a new learning environment.  Hayden has dyslexia and learning was a struggle for him. She enrolled him at New Way Academy and Hayden has flourished. The small class sizes and teachers with advanced training in educating children with learning differences and dyslexia have helped Hayden with his reading, writing and grades. “Before enrolling him at New Way, Hayden was really struggling with writing and it is now his favorite subject!” explained Hayden’s mom.

When Hayden describes his school, it is obvious he has found the perfect fit, “The teachers are more patient and nicer. There are no bullies. All of the kids here are dealing with learning issues and they are nicer. I have lots of friends now. Without a scholarship, I would not be able to go to New Way. The Arizona Leadership Foundation scholarship has made it possible for me to get an awesome education where I am actually learning and belonging.  My mom and I are very grateful.”

We, at the Arizona Leadership Foundation, are so happy Hayden has found the right academic setting! The Arizona Leadership Foundation proudly provides scholarship assistance to private schools and Lexie’s Law schools throughout Arizona with no preference to religious or political affiliation. We believe parents should have a choice when it comes to the education of their children! The Arizona Leadership Foundation is able to offer scholarships through Arizona’s Corporate Income Tuition Tax Credit (CTC) Scholarship Program and the Lexie’s Law Corporate Income Tax Credit Program. These Arizona programs are education plans designed to help Low-Income families and families with Disabled/Displaced children obtain the best education for their children.
